DEAR KSG BUSINESS PARTNER:
Unfortunately, the World is going through a very serious catastrophe as we are all aware. It has been felt almost in every country, or will be felt soon if not felt already.
As most of you do, we also try to protect ourselves, our families and our employees as we consider them as part of our families. In addition to trying to protect our families, our employees and our society, we also feel ourselves responsible to keep running our business and the businesses of our partners.
Therefore, we try to observe the situation and be pro-active. The current situation in Turkey is as such:
As of 16-03-2020, the number of Covid-19 diagnosed people was 47, without any mortalities. All of them were somehow related to recent international travels, and they have been all quarantined. So far, there has not been any local spread incidents confirmed.
We have already taken some precautions such as:
- Arranged a training by our company medical advisor (a specialist doctor of Medicine) to inform our staff about self protective measures.
- Decided to keep in close contact with our medical advisor to take further actions if needed in due course.
- According to our discussions with our medical advisor, concluded that the risk of spreading within the factory is at minimum considering the distances between each worker due to the separation of each machine from the others. However, this does not mean we should not need to take any preventive actions.
- Installed various disinfecting dispensers at several points of the factory.
- Arranged the disinfection of the midi-buses that are used to transport our staff from/to the factory.
- Disinfected the necessary parts of the factory.
- Sent the staff that are above 60 years of age to their homes as they are considered to be more vulnerable than the others.
- Extended the lunch time period and arranged three lunch shifts instead of two to reduce the number of people inside the cafeteria at same time.
- Given non-contact thermometers to the security guards to measure the body temperatures of all workers and visitors upon their entry to the factory. (The plan is to direct them to the relevant medical centres in case any person with high fewer is encountered.)
- The staff for whom it is possible to work at home are sent home to continue to work there.
- Prepared the replacement plan of our staff (both blue collar and white collar) in case we will have to replace any workers due to possible sick leaves.
- Already contacted and established a line of contact with our transport service providers to closely follow any possible disruptions on transportation routes, and started to prepare a transport mode replacement plan, in case of need to change the modes of transports from road to sea , air or sea to road etc.
Our priority is of course to keep our staff healthy as much as we can. But on the other hand, the other priority is to keep our production going as we are aware that there are other businesses that rely on ours.
During those hard days, we do hope that the mentioned actions and precautions will not need to be expanded or increased, and the situation becomes better for the whole world as soon as possible.
